Let Us Open (DIY) Doors For You!

Going along with our April theme of DIY (do-it-yourself) projects, we thought the idea of re-purposing old doors would be a fantastic way to help decorate your porch, garden or inside a room in your home. Taking an old door, adding some paint is one of the most inexpensive ways to transform a living space.

The options for old doors are seemingly endless! I think my favorite idea was painting the wood or glass on the door and magically turning it into a chalkboard. For around $20.00 at Home Depot, you can purchase a can of chalkboard paint and go to town! We are giving away a $50.00 Home Depot gift card to a special someone for just following our blog, this would be the perfect project for you!

Perfect for writing your grocery list, children's chores or sweet notes to your family, a chalkboard door is a perfect and fun solution for a family on the go!

Another favorite way to re-purpose an old door and turn it into wall art! Like the example below, painting the door and turning horizontal would be a great way to brighten up a room. Go the extra mile and add some of your favorite photographs!

If you are looking for a super crafty and shabby chic way to transform your bedroom or a guest room, try turning one (or three) old doors into your own custom headboard! It looks pretty awesome if you ask us!
